A veteran entrepreneur who has helped build and grow seven startups in the technology and media industries, Jeff Bruce has delivered a combined $1.5 billion in exit value for investors. Prior to founding True North Capital Partners, Mr. Bruce enjoyed 16 years of successful personal investing in rental income property before turning his efforts to real estate full time. Combining his passions for startups and real estate, Mr. Bruce eagerly applies his acumen for finding market opportunity with strong fiscal and operations control to produce superior returns for investors through a value add investment strategy.
Mr. Bruce was raised in St. Louis, MO, has lived in San Francisco and Boston, and worked extensively in New York, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has served as a director and advisor to various industry associations and private companies. Mr. Bruce received a BA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1987 and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992 where he graduated with honors.
Prior to joining True North Capital Partners, Mathew Glauninger enjoyed 26 successful years in finance, startups and education. Mr. Glauninger's experience in finance includes helping turn a bank's technology business from a top 20 provider to the nation's second largest lender in the category, and helping one of the most innovative specialized commercial finance companies provide sophisticated senior secured debt financing options to middle market companies. Mr. Glauninger also founded and helped lead two technology startups, one of which was acquired by Microsoft. Drawing on his success in finance and startups, Mr. Glauninger combines a numbers oriented discipline with strict operations management to find real estate opportunities that achieve above market returns for investors.
Mr. Glauninger grew up in Silicon Valley and built his career in New York, San Francisco and Boston. Deeply committed to education, he transformed the AP economics program at Belmont High School (MA) and was coach of the Economics Challenge teams that won eight state championships and a second place national finish. He was also head coach for the freshman football team. Mr. Glauninger received a BA from Williams College in 1985, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992 where he graduated with honors, and an MA from Harvard in 2002.
